DPCC Awards Program – Performance Rules

Performance Doberman of the Year – The Performance Doberman of the Year Award is awarded to the Doberman obtaining titles in different disciplines (Obedience, Rally, Agility, IPO, Nosework etc.) Each Discipline counts once. If you earned two Obedience Titles, it is only one Obedience discipline. The award will be given to the dog with the highest number of disciplines in which titles were earned within the Award year. This award will also recognize non CKC disciplines (i.e. Nosework, Herding, Barn Hunt etc.). Scores do not count for this award.

Top Obedience Dog of the Year
The Top Obedience Dog will be awarded without application using the CKC Top  Obedience Dog results (or Canuck Dog results/points if CKC is unavailable). The dog must competing in Open and/or Utility during the awards year and the dog must compete in a minimum of three trials.

UD Dog of the Year
For the dog/handler team that achieved the title with the highest average score. Average score is calculated from the scores of the three legs that earned the title. All three legs must be earned in the award year.

CDX Dog of the Year
For the dog/handler team that achieved the title with the highest average score. Average score is calculated from the scores of the three legs that earned the title. All three legs must be earned in the award year.

CD Dog of the Year
For the dog/handler team that achieved the title with the highest average score. Average score is calculated from the scores of the three legs that earned the title All three legs must be earned in the award year.

Top Rally-Obedience Dog of the Year
The Top Rally-Obedience Dog of the Year will be awarded without application using the CKC Top Rally Dog results (or Canuck Dogs point system if CKC results unavailable). The dog must be competing in either the Rally Advanced or Rally Excellent classes during the awards year. The dog must compete in a minimum of three trials.

Top Rally Master Dog
For the dog/handler team that achieved the highest average score in earning their Rally Master title.  Average score is calculated from the scores of the three legs that earned the title. All three legs must be earned in the award year (January to December).

Top Rally Excellent Dog
For the dog/handler team that achieved the highest average score in earning their Rally Excellent title.  Average score is calculated from the scores of the three legs that earned the title. All three legs must be earned in the award year (January to December).

Top Rally Advanced Dog
For the dog/handler team that achieved the highest average score in earning their Rally Advanced title.  Average score is calculated from the scores of the three legs that earned the title. All three legs must be earned in the award year (January to December).

Overall IGP Dog of the Year – An average
For the dog/handler team that achieved the highest average score based on all attempts in the calendar year.  All dogs applying for this award must be “pronounced” to have their score(s) count. This award is calculated by the DPCC IGP Committee.

IGP 1 Dog of the Year
For the dog/handler team that achieved the highest average score in earning their IGP1 (or 2 or 3) Title.  The title must have been earned in the  award year (January to December). This award is calculated by the DPCC IGP Committee. The dogs receiving a Pronounced rating will receive additional points in calculating this award winner, over dogs receiving sufficient (VH) or insufficient ratings.

IGP 2 Dog of the Year
For the dog/handler team that achieved the highest average score in earning their IGP1 (or 2 or 3) Title.  The title must have been earned in the  award year (January to December). This award is calculated by the DPCC IGP Committee. The dogs receiving a Pronounced rating will receive additional points in calculating this award winner, over dogs receiving sufficient (VH) or insufficient ratings.

IGP3 Dog of the Year
For the dog/handler team that achieved the highest average score in earning their IGP1 (or 2 or 3) Title.  The title must have been earned in the  award year (January to December). This award is calculated by the DPCC IGP Committee. The dogs receiving a Pronounced rating will receive additional points in calculating this award winner, over dogs receiving sufficient (VH) or insufficient ratings.

Performance Sire of the Year
For the dog siring the greatest number of Dobermans awarded any performance titles during the awards year.  Each offspring is counted only once. To apply there must be a minimum of 3 offspring that earned a performance titles.

Performance Dam of the Year
For the bitch producing the greatest number of Dobermans awarded any performance titles during the awards year. Each offspring is counted only once. To apply there must be a minimum of 3 offspring that earned a performance titles.

Performance Breeder of the Year
For the breeder of the greatest number of Dobermans awarded performance titles in the awards year. One point for each offspring who has titled in a performance venue, must have a minimum of 3 offspring to be eligible.

Service Dog Recognition – for all Dobermans accredited in therapy, seeing eye, hearing ear, search & rescue, assistance dog (accreditation must be through provincial or nationally recognized agencies)
